Bridge- New case open, “Ravenpack”

Tags: , .

Hello all, I hope you have had a pleasent holiday. I haven´t been so active lately because of other engagements, and the holidays of course.

A lot have happened since the end of November, the biggest and most interesting news is that a new case is open for subscription, Ravenpack. It has been open since 14 December and will close 14 January so if you are interested you best hurry. A memorandum can be downloaded from the Bridge portal. Here is info about Ravenpack.

RavenPack provides next generation of real-time information systems in partnership with DowJones.

RavenPack International S.L, located in Spain is a fast-growing provider in developing software solutions for analyzing, interpreting and delivering actionable information from large and complex datasets in the financial industry, has decided to offer Members in Bridge network to subscribe for limited shares in a “Private placement”, in december to 14 January 2008 of 2,5 million Euros.

Ravenpack´s financial advisor in this offering is McNamee Lawrence & Co, a licensed company, providing investment banking services to growth oriented companies and investors around the world. McNamee Lawrence & Co. have offices in Boston, London and San Francisco.

RavenPack intends to raise an additional €4.5 million in early 2008 in conjunction with the registration of the private placement securities on an appropriate stock exchange and filing of a prospectus. The aggregate funds raised of €7 million will fund the provision of services for Dow Jones subscribers, to further develop its technology and product lines and to extend its sales network beyond Dow Jones.

RavenPack business idea is to gathers information from any source to which it is connected (newswire, RSS feed, etc.) and is then able to read and interpret this information in real-time using proprietary semantic analysis tools.

The company has after many years of developing the software moved into the early growth stage with product and sales focus to generate revenues. In February 2007, RavenPack and Dow Jones International (”Dow Jones” or “DJ”), a recognized industry leader, at the forefront of an emerging industry, agreed to collaborate and provide a new service to Dow Jones customers.

On April 26, 2007, RavenPack and Dow Jones introduced the product Dow Jones News Analytics powered by RavenPack to the European market at the TradeTech conference in Paris. In 2008 RavenPack expects a strong growth in revnues from this partnership.

Potentially years ahead of any competitor, RavenPack is in a ‘first-to-market’ position, in partnership with Dow Jones, RavenPack further believes that its pipeline of products resulting from its ongoing R&D effort will capture exciting revenue opportunities in related, lucrative markets before a planned IPO within 12-36 months.

In July 2007, demand for the product in North America compelled RavenPack and Dow Jones to extend their commercialization agreement to geographically include the United States. In 2007, Dow Jones established a separate Algorithmic Trading Business Unit, with a separate P&L, run by the former head of Sales for the Americas. Dow Jones is investing heavily in this unit with personnel and marketing resources and has established aggressive revenue goals to dramatically grow this business unit over the next 5 years.

The service has been well received and has generated a lot of interest among prospective users and the financial press. Information about RavenPack’s technology has been published by hundreds of online and print media sources including such names as the Wall Street Journal, The Trade, Security Industry News, CNN Money, HedgeWeek, Financial Tech Magazine, Inside Market Data, and Wall Street & Technology.

RavenPack’s service has been showcased from London to New York, presented at all major tradeshows including TradeTech 2007 and the European Financial Summit in London, and currently gaining strong momentum across the financial industry.
