:)

ain't you a busy bee..

I am not a user of such services so my insight is not from an actual point of usage... just what i think would be useful ..

that would be the personalized urls ... check out the http://moourl.com/ for a good example .. (you get the function to personilize a url, after you create one ..)

.. and perhaps a more slick interface might add value to it ..

Thank you for your speedy response! <del datetime="2008-06-03T18:02:05+00:00">Right I'm looking at the problem now.
</del>

I've forced access using .htaccess from www. to the default su.sg.

Anything else you think I can add?

Seems to work fine except a small annoyance ..

I initially went to you site through a link in the article. But that link happened to be a www.su.sg (the www is the issue).

I enabled the preview function and then tried a few urls ..

they all went directly to the final site ..

i then opened another browser and did the whole process manually but i went to the site as su.sg (no www this time), enabled the preview and indeed it was working just fine ..

It seemed weird so i looked for the relevant cookies and noticed that they are stored as belonging to different hosts..

one is stored for www.su.sg and another for su.sg

the problem comes that the su.sg cannot read the www.su.sg cookie and thinks that it is not set..

might want to look into this problem as it might cause some frustration to a few people.. (maybe forcefully redirect the su.sg to www.su.sg or vice verca.. (dont forget to persist the parameters)

good luck resolving this, and congrats for the first upgrade to the system .. looking better and better :)

Gaby, could you toy around and see if the preview function works for you? :)

wow, that's really constructive Gaby. I'll take into account on the features that TinyURL has and improvise the version, but you'll agree the URL name is neat isn't it?

Cool url..

i am envious, because it is an idea that i have been playing with for sometime, although my plans (if i ever get to implement them) are to make this a site with free members where you can use the system just like in your site, but with the added benefits of your history of urls ... plus personilized urls etc. etc.. all have been done though ..)

What i think is missing from your system is the reverse process like tinyurl has .. (i always do check it, to avoid nasty surprises ..) and also the function to set a cookie and thus always make a stop at your site to automatically show the resolved url before going there ...

cheers and good luck with it :)
